The house-museum dubbed The Seed of Time has opened its door to guests. By visiting the official Airbnb page, you may reserve your own stay.
Aside from the ingenious architecture, the house-museum boasts a wonderful location, as it’s set in Altamura, Italy.
The city is known for it’s old castles, churches, natural beauty and the long tradition of pastry making.
Let’s explore this work-of-art Airbnb location!
1. The Refurbishment Project
The Seed of Time was originally the architect’s own family home. Giacomo Garziano of GG Loop is the architect who’s got many similarly fascinating designs under his belt.
The Seed of Time is the project that gave both him and the company the crucial media attention.
It’s made out of two parts – the exterior and the interior. Duh. However, these two parts represent duality “of conscious and unconscious, of the King and the Queen, of the Sun and the Moon”.
The exterior is dubbed the Gentle Genius, and the interior the Infection.
2. The Great Outdoors
The Gentle Genius exterior represents the first member of the duo – the King, the conscious, the Sun.
It stands for passion, rage and madness, and each of these are perfectly reflected on its facade.
To look at it from a more surface-level perspective, it’s a hub of modern design, which clashes with its traditional surroundings.
Still, the geometric facade is somewhat softened by the green roof, which adds a touch of the biophilic aesthetic into the mix.
3. Living Room
As you venture indoors, you’re blinded by the sheer paleness which stands as the ultimate contrast to the fiery exterior.
The interior is said to represent the clam, sunconscious part of us, as well as feelings like loneliness and sadness.
The incredible geometric design remains the same as outside, and its implementation is very thorough.
The wall panels, the shelving as well as the seating all support the geometric theme.
4. Bedroom
The bedroom maintains the ultra-clean, geometric design. You’ll note that even the bed itself sports a geometric shape.
The amenities such as storage are cleverly implemented so that they remain invisible so as not to disrupt the pristine design.
5. Dining Room
The kitchen and dining room also support the main theme.
The cooking necesities and modern appliances are carefully integrated into the seamless design.
Even the dining table and chairs set matches the theme fully.
Honestly, I don’t know if I’d cook anything here! It seems like a waste to disrupt the perfect minimalism of the room.
6. Accommodation
The house-museum can accommodate two guests, as it contains one bedroom and one bathroom.
If you choose to stay here, you’ll have access to the basic kitchen and bath essentials. The living room has a TV for your leisure time.
The home has both air condition and heating, and not to forget, you get the chance to vacation in one of the loveliest towns of Southern Italy!
